What Kind of City Dweller Are You?

You Are a Hip and Artsy City Dweller

You love that the city is always changing, and you’re always on top of the latest trends.

You don’t try to deliberately keep up, you’re just naturally curious. And because of your curiosity, you discover hidden gems just before they get popular.

You truly love the city, and you’re inspired by the urban landscape every day. Living in the middle of the hustle and bustle keeps you creative.

Even if you aren’t an artist, you can’t help but take pictures, write, make art, or play music. All of the energy around you is contagious!

What the hell? It’s the weekend and I think a lot of people take breaks from blogs/blogging on the weekends. I’m not out of stuff to write, just don’t feel like writing too much.

A Blind Man Boards a Bus and…

Thursday, October 1st, 2009

COTA Bus…this is a true story. Some of you know that Brian and I were in Columbus, Ohio, recently and saw the Ohio State Buckeyes (Go Bucks!) beat the Navy Midshipmen. What I forgot to mention was that after the game, after wading through a literal sea of red — jerseys, hats, shorts — we boarded a COTA bus to return to our hotel. A blind man got on a few stops later, complaining about the football crowd and how it messed up his bus schedule, and then threatened to shoot said crowd. Brian and I were like, “Whatever,” since passengers like him ride the CTA all the time and no one pays them any attention. Besides, the man was blind; how accurate could his aim be? Well, in Columbus, they apparently take these sorts of threats seriously because at the very next stop, the driver booted the passenger off the bus and into the waiting arms of a police officer who just happened to be at that corner directing the flow of traffic. True story.

I AM a Windy Citizen

Thursday, September 24th, 2009

I was very surprised to learn earlier that the photo I posted yesterday was chosen as one of “Today’s Photos” on Windy Citizen, Today’s Best Chicago News, picked by Chicagoans. It’s even the first one on the list of “Today’s Photos”! I know I’ve posted this on Twitter and Facebook already and I’m sorry to continue tooting my own horn, but…not really. :-D It was just so unexpected and exciting!
