meaning, proof that i snore, not that i’m snore-proof. apparently, i was snoring loudly again the other day. Brian tried to tape it for me since i still find it hard to believe that my snores are loud. unfortunately, there’s something wrong with the tape recorder, so all he managed to get was static. i want to know what my snores sound like, damn it!
when i sat at my desk this morning, i found that Hopper shit on it. it couldn’t have been because breakfast was late. i woke up earlier than usual, which meant they were fed earlier than usual. one of the boys must have been picking on her.
i grounded her from lounging on the desktop all morning like she likes to do after breakfast. as if that’ll do any good. crazy cats.
Brian took this picture yesterday, and clearly we need to bust out the camera manual, and i need to learn PSP better. that’s me and Basil trying not to fall asleep.
April at For Better or For Worse tagged me with this meme.
the rules are simple, now that you have been busted, you must confess to three things that you do that others don?t know about.
haha! this is easy–they all have to do with my cats. very few people know that i:
- clip my cats’ callouses (only Basil gets them)
- pick their noses
- squeeze their blackheads
i think i’ll tag ariK, crazy. spoiled. bLitch, and Mrs. Hell on Heels!
i wanted to write more today, but for some reason i’m unusually tired. normally, i sleep seven to nine hours with the help of trazodone, but the last couple of nights i’ve only slept three to six hours, even with the trazodone! the Ritalin isn’t helping me stay awake, either. well, i see the
pdoc on Thursday, so i’ll talk to him about it then. in the meantime, i’ll leave you with this picture that
Brian took yesterday.

that’s
Hee Seop checking in with me. throughout the day he comes out from wherever he was sleeping and jumps onto the chair’s arm for pets, then onto the back of the chair, then onto the keyboard tray. and sometimes, if he’s feeling particularly bold (he’s a
very shy cat), he’ll sit on my lap.
although we agreed not to exchange gifts (because we get each other stuff all the time and because we have each other–go ahead, roll your eyes), Brian cheated and got me 3 Star Wars LEGO sets: 2 that i didn’t have and one that i already had, but not really one that i’d want a duplicate set of. of course, i’m not complaining.
i was really excited about that. then, when i went on LEGO.com i found that they’ve re-released some of the “classic” sets, such as the A-wing, B-wing, and dan, if you’re reading this–the Slave I, which now includes a Dengar minifig–how cool is that?
the original A-wing set is $30 used/$33 minimum new; the B-wing is about $50 used/$80 minimum new. the re-released sets are $16 and $35 respectively and are nicer in terms of brick color and design. the only one more expensive is the new Slave I; the original has 162 pieces, whereas the new one has 537.
one day, the Barb Natividad Museum of LEGO Star Wars Vehicles will be complete!
we were supposed to visit Brian’s family in Iowa for Christmas on the 23rd, but we weren’t feeling good enough to make the road trip. besides that, we couldn’t get a catsitter. i suppose we could have left the kitties alone overnight, but not really–not these 4. plus with Angelo on a special diet we wouldn’t have been able to just leave dry food out for them. anyway, we wanted to stay more than just one night. i’m hoping we’ll be able to get out there or that they can come visit us soon, especially since the weather is really nice right now (30s, snow melted).
my mom and a group of her friends take turns doing Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, and New Year’s, but we didn’t make it for that, either. it was out in the ‘burbs, but there would have been a lot of kids there and we didn’t want to pass on whatever we have. her condo will be ready for her to move into on the 28th, so she’ll have Brian and me and my sister and her fiance over for a late tayo tayo lang (”just us”, as in, just the immediate family) Christmas.
we did talk to all of our relatives in Iowa, here, Texas, and Las Vegas, so that was nice. as usual, my extended family in Vegas asked when we would be out there next, but Brian doesn’t have much vacation time yet and anyway, we just don’t have the cash. but we’ll be out there in June for my sister’s wedding.
though we couldn’t be with our families, Brian and i still had a great day. we–ok, he–made green bean casserole with fresh green beans. we had that with ham, stuffing (which he can’t seem to go without even when there’s no turkey!), corn, and apple pie for dessert. we fell asleep, woke up in time to watch the Bears game, played some video games, and just hung out.
instead of actually getting the cats anything, since they never seem to use/play with furniture/toys we get them (see here), i put one of their old balls inside an empty tissue box. it was a hit!!! it’s still driving them mad a day later, and Basil even got his head stuck inside the box. fortunately, he was able to remove it on his own a few seconds later. unfortunately, we were unable to take a picture.
i hope all of you had a great holiday, no matter which one you celebrated!
my ear is feeling better–thanks, everyone! still have a cough and runny nose, so we aren’t sure if we’ll make it to the in-laws’ for Christmas on Friday because Brian isn’t feeling well, either, but we plan to be there. then Christmas with my mom is on Saturday night. oh, yes–i’m talking to her again. still a bit ambivalent about it, but it’s a relief at the same time. Christmas just isn’t my favorite holiday.
on a brighter note (though unless you play Neopets this won’t mean a damn thing), i finally got the fishing avatar today. last night i got the Black Pteri avatar, which brings my total to 155. VeqRiin lost one battle to him and won the next. i’m thinking of morphing her into a Kacheek, though, because as her hit points increase, her Blue Scorchstone just isn’t going to heal enough points. i already have the Kacheek Life Potion, which heals 33% of her max hp’s if she has 33% or less left, and completely heals her if she has more than 33%. on the other hand, that would mean i’d have to do math. what to do, what to do.
i’m making more progress than i thought i would. instead of making an album for every Christmas or Thanksgiving, i decided to make one for all of them, with the most recent pictures first. i’m nowhere near finished, of course, but it’s a start.
the other day i scanned in Christmas pictures from 2000 in Columbus and Chicago. the ones from Columbus are of our first Christmas together as a couple, and the other ones are from my parents’ house. on my Flickr page, i created a separate album called Our First Christmas even though those pics are also in the all-Christmas album.

note: i actually had to copy and paste this because i can’t get the cross-posting thing from
43 Things working. keeps saying that my login page is an invalid
URL. why does this stuff have to be so hard?
speaking of which, i managed to get my Flickr badge up in the sidebar ok. thanks, Dari!
i’m really looking forward to the new Harry Potter movie, which comes out Friday, and i’m currently re-reading HP4. believe it or not, i haven’t seen any of them at the theatre. when i suggested to Brian that we see the movie this weekend, he agreed. and before he could open his mouth again–which he was about to do–i told him he better not start calling me Cho Chang.
