Ironic, huh? I guess that’s manic thinking for you. Part of me doesn’t even know how to slow down. Now, I’m forced to because for the past few days, simply getting out of bed has become a chore. For me, that’s a red flag that another depressive episode is coming on.
But is it? I was sick to my stomach all day Sunday and had to run to the bathroom a few times in the middle of the night on Sunday/early Monday. Obviously, I’m sick.
I’m also scared. What if this is leading up to something else — to depression? And the more I worry, the more my anxiety increases and the more likely I am to fall into a depressive episode.
Well, I’ve canceled my pedicure appointment this week to make absolutely sure that I make it to my therapy appointment tomorrow. I guess I’m learning to slow down. Slowly.

Ask your therapist about getting a light box. I know that I’m really sensitive to lack of light, and SAD may be part of your problem, too. This time of year always gets to me.

Actually, I think about that every year but never get around to asking. Thanks for the reminder!
Yes! I used a very tiny SAD light box and it helped, though I wasn’t very consistent with it. http://www.amazon.com/Zadro-Sunlight-Personal-Artificial-Therapy/dp/B001AHMN34/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=home-garden&qid=1254859687&sr=8-1 It’s tiny but super bright.
Wow! That’s a lot cheaper than I thought it’d be. I wonder if my insurance would pay for one.
I’ll definitely ask.
Do take care of yourself. I’ve been thinking about a SAD light as well, I just hate this time of year and what’s coming (read winter)..
Thanks. I asked my therapist about it yesterday, and she says that it does seem to help people. I’ll have to ask the pdoc if he can write me a Rx for it — maybe insurance will cover it. Well, one can hope.
If you need to ever talk, just email me ok??

Thanks, Robin.
I’d be surprised if your insurance doesn’t pay for it. Good luck!
