WordPress Category Help? Anyone?

OK, so like I said, part of my blog overhaul includes consolidating post categories so I can get rid of others. Does anyone know if there’s a way that I can move all of, say, the Star Wars posts into the Current Affairs/Pop Culture category at the same time? Or do I have to do it one . . . post . . . at . . . a . . . time . . . ? God, I hope not.

Hmmm… looks like you could simply rename the category. I’d try posting a couple of sample posts first into new categories, and then trying this.

Thanks for the article citation (once a librarian ); but what I’m actually trying to do is move a whole bunch of posts from it’s current category to an already existing category.

I tried doing this by listing all of the posts under the Star Wars category, clicking “Edit All”(?) or something, and then typing the new category. The problem is, the new category already exists. I just want to move these posts so that they’re under “Current Affairs/Pop Culture.” :???:

If you go to the “Manage” tab and you click “Categories” you can either edit them into a different one or delete the category, which will result in posts JUST being categorized in that particular one (multiple categorized posts might be a problem) will be put into the “Uncategorized” list.

I tried that and typed the category I want to move the posts to where it says Edit Category, but when I save it, it says “Category Not Updated.” I guess I’ll check out the WP site and see if they have something there.

Hmm…maybe it’s because most of the posts belong to other categories, too? :???:
