Basil, the Internet & Hockey
First of all, thanks to everyone’s concern for Basil. I picked him up from the vet last evening. He’s had tummy trouble before, but it’s been years, and he was much younger then, so obviously there was more concern this time around. The vet said the X-rays showed that his small intestines look a little thick, which could indicate lymphoma but he doesn’t show any of those symptoms, thankfully. She sent us home with an anti-nausea medication called Metoclopramide, Pepcid AC, and Hill’s Prescription i/d, all of which he only has to consume for a few days.
He was pretty listless when I brought him to the vet in the morning, but by the afternoon he was sitting in the front of his cage eating baby food and drinking water. His appetite seems to be back to normal, though he still seems a little weary. Needless to say, his dental for today has been canceled!
The cable guys arrived at 1:15, which was impressive, considering we were told they’d be here between 1:00 and 5:00 p.m. I have Internet at home again — yay!!!!!!
Pink Floyd, my Pink team, made it to the playoffs. We’re still in third place and will be up against the Sweet Potatas, who are currently in second. I’ve only played against them once (Week 4: The Sweet Potatas vs. the Turtles), and they have some really strong players. Also, no subs are allowed in the playoffs and finals. So, game on tonight!

Good luck with the game tonight!Hope you kick some tail.I’m so glad Basil is feeling better.Has the vet said anything about offering pedialyte? When our dog had Parvo virus, that perked him up within a few hours and probably saved his life. It’s good if they have vomiting/direahea.

What a relief about Basil. It’s so difficult when animals are sick.
Okay, I am assuming you played the team you wrote about on here, right? And you guys won.
I’m glad things are going good for you.

I hope that Basil continues to get better. I have an ancient Siamese cat named P.E. I know his kidneys aren’t what they used to be and he’s missing most of his teeth, but he’s still well enough to be a pain in the ass, so I hope he holds out awhile longer!
I hope you are feeling better too. sorry I haven’t been around in a while.

ragensmom, luckily, he wasn’t too dehydrated, but they did give him fluids while he was there. My team did kick tail!
jane, yeah, we won the playoffs! I finally posted about it — I haven’t been doing well lately, as you know — moodwise, physically. I have no idea what’s going on and it’s irritating me. All I want to do is sleep.
Cheesemeister, don’t feel bad — I haven’t visited zillions of blogs in a while. I started getting caught up when I started subscribing to feeds via My Yahoo, but then things kind of went downhill for me. Not sure what’s going on.
As for Basil, his dental has been rescheduled for some time in July, and I’m sure he’ll be fine. Hee Seop’s a lot younger and isn’t Siamese (though by his yowling, I’d swear he has some Siamese blood in him) but is missing nearly half his teeth! And needs to go on a diet!
DB, he seems to be back to his old self — sitting on Hopper wherever she happens to be resting. Typical male? Typical Siamese? Typical male Siamese?
Speaking of males, there were actually 2 cable guys and the problem was with the box outside. You wouldn’t want them, trust me, but I can still send Dr. Hottie your way!
Thanks, Polly.

Thanks, kim. He goes in for his dental on Monday! His teeth are really, really awful, but I’m sure he’ll be fine.
Don’t you hate when service people give you this huge window of time and then either show up early (while you’re still in bed) or late, when you have say, a hockey game you need to be at?
