State of the Blog Address
I’ve been avoiding blogs (including my own) and blogging for the past several days, because I was afraid to even look at my blog, and all this craziness has caused me way too much anxiety so I figured I needed a break. Since I no longer drink, smoke, or do drugs, I self-medicated by cheating on my prescribed high-fiber diet — I ate fried foods and even had a candy bar! Ha! I am such a badass, am I not?
For the most part, it seems that my blog’s fixed, the template for sure. I believe people can actually read and leave comments. The private post user level thing is still screwed up, even though I’m now using a 2.1.x-compatible version of that plugin. I’m thinking of deactivating it altogether and using password-protected posts, instead. You’d have to be a registered user who I know, and I’d e-mail you the password once I’ve posted. There might be a few that are for my eyes only, though. Any thoughts on this idea?
My inline uploader vanished into thin air, and I’m not sure which plugin is causing this. Probably that photo album one. Well, off I go to test them out. Oh, joy.
It’s unbelievable how much a blog can cause stress in ones life…it does to me all the time.

Ugh, that’s exactly why I’ve resisted upgrading to 2.1. I have enough trouble with the meager tech skills I have.

Hey Girl! Glad to see you around again. The blog seems to look ok now and commenting is working!
I think, as far as private posts are concerned, you should just do what works best for you.

I have no idea about the private post thing, but hopefully will be getting that plugin pretty soon. So, I will be watching/reading to find out what works best with wp2.1

Sometimes it’s good to take a break from blogs. I know I definitely need to, but I’ll be out of state soon enough and won’t be able to check them for a few days so I guess that’ll be my break.
As for password protected posts…I agree with what someone else said, do what works best for you.

Great. Just as I finally mustered up the courage and resolve to at least reply to comments, I saw that two comments on the “Ultrasound Results” post have disappeared! “Searched my ‘Comments to Respond To’ folder in my e-mail and found their comment notifications. So I know it to be true.” Only die-hard SW fans’ll probably get that, but still. Argh. If you’re reading this for the second or third time, I apologize.

DB, well, I’m trying to be around as much as I can, and part of that depends on whether or not my blog’s working! Earlier today it was down for a few hours, but it turns out that my host’s site was down, too. I know they’re in the process of switching to new servers, so maybe that has something to with it. Still, it’s a big fucking pain in the ass.
jane, that plugin, though there’s a version for 2.1.x, isn’t working properly. But…it stopped working properly even before I upgraded. There’s a new version for 2.0.x, but I’ve decided to use the password-protected post feature. That is, if it’s still part of WP at all.
Sid, big time. I’ve even started taking breaks from the PC altogether in recent weeks. I try not to get on the computer at all after 6 or at the latest, 7 p.m. This has helped me regulate my sleep hours again. Routine is so important to my sanity, seriously!
dan, there’s definitely something to that. Like I told Sid, I’m trying to spend less time on the PC so I can do things like…READ. Especially in the evenings, when I need less mind-stimuating activity. Now the only thing that occasionally gets in my way is Xbox!
You are a badass for eating Peeps. Man, I love Peeps! I prefer them just a teeny bit stale, though.
I actually considered eating a box of those or a carton of chocolate-covered marshmallow eggs, but I didn’t. Guess that makes you more of a badass than me. :d I’ve lost my touch!
