Wow. I'm so glad to hear that we weren't the only ones who had this type of wedding, and we didn't have a honeymoon, either. There is a part of me that would have loved to have a fairy tale wedding, but all that planning, money, etc. -- ugh. And then my sister, who did have a fancy wedding in Las Vegas (but that's where our families on both sides live), kind of wishes she opted for something more simple. The grass is always greener on the other side, isn't it?

My parents had a similar wedding with the justice of the peace. I think that's why she wanted to go all out when my oldest sister got married. :d

my wife and i had a very simple wedding. we didn't have much money then - just enough to pay for the ceremony. we had two friends who came along as witnesses. we didn't have a photographer and we didn't have any mom with a camera.

that was 15 years ago and we're still together and going strong. i guess that's the most important thing.

take care!

I got married at city hall too, but I was fine with that. I'm not into the whole big wedding thing. I think it's a complete waste of money. I'm even more glad I didn't spend lavishly on a big wedding since our marriage didn't last.

Love the bands you guys purchased. Nice & simple but still gorgeous.

Doug and I thought of going away to get married...but we ended up planning a very inexpensive, but traditional ceremony. I just couldn't get into the whole fairy tale wedding like my sister had. I didn't even send out invitations. I invited who I wanted and then I sent out announcements. :p Pissed off my Dad's family because I didn't invite them, but oh well!

I'm contemplating sneaking away and eloping before our wedding. Sounds silly but I know I get nervous in big events and that way I can enjoy the real meaning of it for me just with him.

Me and the man had a small, quiet wedding too, and I wouldn't have had it any other way. The only thing I missed was a honeymoon!! would've loved that, but were so broke back then.

We almost got married in Vegas, but chickened out on the grounds that my Mum would've killed me :o
