Friday Cat Blogging No. 46: CSI - Basil Hill: How I Could Just Kill a Mouse

The latest episode of CSI - Cat Scene Investigation involves murder, yet again. And who knew that sweet, innocent Basil could be guilty of a murder rap? Scroll down to see the crime photo. Click on it to see the rest of the photos, if you can stomach it. This happened while I was in the hospital two weeks ago, so thank God I didn’t witness any of this.

Just replace the word “man” in Cypress Hill’s, “How I Could Just Kill a Man” with “mouse,” and there you have it. Never heard it before? Well, here’s your chance!

Here’s an excerpt of the lyrics and you’ll see why it’s appropriate:

one time tried to come in my home take my chrome
I said yo it’s on. take cover son or you’re assed out
how do you like my chrome then I watched the rookie pass out
didn’t have to blast him but I did any way, young punk had to pay

  1. Is it wrong for me to be happy just because Angelo didn’t get busted?

    Basil is so precious.

  2. Not at all! Angelo has been incredibly well-behaved since I’ve been home, spending basically the entire day sleeping on our bed! (@)

  4. Well, since they’re all adopted, who knows where they really came from? They could be from the South Side, except for Hee Seop, who was living around our last apartment on the northwest side.

  5. My cat once brought me the rear end of a mouse. He had already eaten the head. I was just waking up and he plopped it down on my pillow. At first I thought it was one of his toy mice! ARGH!
Once I got myself under control I praised him because I’d prefer that the cats catch any mice that get in. Luckily after the first year in the house there have been no more mice. (@)

  6. OMG — I totally would have died!!!!! Fortunately, I was in the hospital when this occurred. I haven’t seen any since the last episode of CSI. I thought that first one was a toy, too!

We moved to this apartment in the summer, and I always wondered why the cats camped out by the baseboards, just staring at what I thought were “invisible bugs.” They must have been able to hear the mice inside the walls.

Hopefully, these mice will learn the same lesson yours did by spring. Partly because I can’t stand to see any animal hurt, even if it is one of the cat’s traditional enemies.
