You sound like I do when I am suffering with similar bouts of insomnia. Poor girl! I never had to meet with anyone at SSA before I met with their doctor. They conducted an hour long phone interview with me. Then about a month later, I received a letter with my appointment time/location to meet with SSA’s doctor. It was about six weeks after I received a phone call with the good news! My retro active payment of $22K was deposited three weeks later. Everything went much quicker than I expected. I filed in August 2005 and got my money March 2006. I really expected it to take a couple of years. I had to work harder than that to get my unemployment after 9.11 – it took FOUR MONTHS to get a check!

Get some rest sweetie! And thanks again for the b-day email! (l)

Well that’s actually good news… not the sleep part… the SS part. At least your able to move forward. (y)

  5. G’luck on the SSI!

I can come over there and knock you in the head with a hammer to knock you out. However many times you want. LOL ;)

Awwww girl…I’m sorry but you sound pretty good considering. Hold on, things WILL get better.

csb, I am so glad I don’t have to meet with their doctor! I’m hoping that’s a good sign. (y) This insomnia is really killing me.

    Tinka and April, thanks!

Dawgg, yeah, it’s about time I filed, too! The whole process is so overwhelming–all that paperwork and crap. I really couldn’t have done it without my CM–he rocks!

KG, thanks. I would love it if you came over and knocked me over the head. As long as you bring some cookies. :) Hey, have you checked your Neo account yet?

Robin, I always sound good! ;) Actually, it’s the “game face” I managed to develop over the years. My pdoc once told me that if I didn’t describe my symptoms, there are some days even he wouldn’t be able to tell that I’m depressed. :o Thanks for the well wishes. :)
