MsFreud, welcome to the bloggo! I know I’ve seen you around, mainly on IT2M. Funny thing is, I’m really not into the “fantasy” genre, but RPGs really do suck you in! Most of my games are SW, but I’m willing to try other things. I do have Oblivion, but I figured I’d try to get through Morrowind first. I have the Game of the Year edition, which includes the Tribunal and Bloodmoon expansions! Nope, you’re definitely not the only female gamer out there! I think most of us just keep it quiet.

You want another crack in a box game? Try Fable (XBox). I had to go back to playing Halo 2 to get off the Fable crack-pipe.
My dad has an Oblivion problem these days. I am just happy to hear I am not the only girl out the with OCD for gaming.

Yeah, if I was going back to school, I’d never get my homework done, let alone take care of kids if I played Oblivion! I hear ya, Denise.

jane, very frustrating. There was a lot of stuff i had to relearn–including how to put on my hockey equipment! Seriously, though, there’s all kinds of stuff that I’m still having to relearn, and the worst part of it is not knowing what they are until I try to do them. But yeah, you totally “got” my character’s name! (i)

TB, I have it on Xbox, so maybe it only seemed slow because it was your PC. :p Yeah, all that walking around can get tedious, but I enjoy coming across all the different side quests and killing nasty creatures.

Jay, my tolerance depends on the type of game. If it’s a sports game, forget about it. Brian even asked if I’d be interested in the new version of NHL whatever, but I was like, um…I don’t think so. Besides, I’d rather be on the ice for real! I also hate games where you have to jump over things and hit things with your head and shit like that in order to complete a level.

dan, is that a rhetorical question? :p I still don’t think I’d play Oblivion if I’m home alone. Yes, I am that much of a scaredy cat.

I did play both versions of KotOR and agree that the first was much, much better. I think I only played the second one maybe four times, and I can’t even remember if I played the DS path. I still want to play KotOR as a male character, but I absolutely hate Bastila (possible spoilers, folks).

The second one was kind of confusing, too. I did like Bao-Dur, but I had really high expectations, maybe because Darth Nihilus looked so absolutely cool. Brian isn’t into RPGs (he’s more of an FPS and race car kind of guy, and I like Morrowind because it’s a little bit of both–well, not the racing part). Anyway, he, too, has a soft spot for HK. :s Me, I have a soft spot for T3, but I also love Artoo, so it’s no surprise. And I am so in love with Carth, it’s disgusting. (l) :$

I am, however, thoroughly enjoying the new KotOR comic series. BTW, that Darth Bane novel that came out in September was written by one of the KotOR I writers.

kim, yes, it’s incredibly frustrating. The Atari only had one button and a joystick. These new consoles have tons of buttons, triggers, two thumbsticks–it’s totally confusing! I think that even before the ECT I still had a hard time remember which buttons, etc. did what for different games! :d

the memory loss is so frustrating!

someone recently gave us a used PS2. i haven’t played a video game since atari and nintendo. i can’t figure out the controls for most of the games and i get frustrated. but, i’m addicted to the world series of poker tournament of champions. i’ve wasted many hours the last few weeks…

First of all, Morrowind can be finished? Hmm. I suppose for the PC we can download additions and we have 2 expansion packs.

Second, I know some peeps who have Oblivion, and if you loved Morrowind, Oblivion continues the same.

And third, I loved the original KotR. Did you play the second? I wasn’t in to that one as much. The storyline for the Dark Side path was really really empty… compared to the Light Side path. And the characters were not quite so good.

I have a soft spot for HK.

Video games are so beyond my level of tolerance it’s not even funny. Occasionally my husband will guilt me into playing, and I never know what buttons do what, and still manage to kick his butt anyway, which makes him the cloesest to crying I’ve ever seen.

I couldn’t stand Morrowind. I had it for PC but installed it. I couldn’t stand traveling around because it took too long. I just found the game too slow overall. I’m playing Guild Wars Nightfall right now. I want to get Factions too. I haven’t played Guild Wars in a couple weeks though because I’m preoccupied with other things. Also I’ve just been so damn tired lately. Agitated and tired. It’s the most awful combination. I don’t know if I can take this much longer. I see my pdoc on Thursday which seems way too far away. I am trying to relax myself with soothing music and Ativan. I seriously need a med change.

That must be really frustrating to have to relearn keys & stuff you’ve remembered. Jim has xbox, but doesn’t play that game, he’s more into the shoot em up games. Yeah, I got the name! At 1st I thought it was code for Barb, and then I thought Brain, and then, I GOT IT!! (y)
