Friday Cat Blogging No. 40: CSI – Domestic Violence

The latest episode of CSI – Cat Scene Investigation is the result of having two alpha cats in the household. I know the picture is blurry because it was taken with a camera phone, but you can see the injury to Hopper’s mouth pretty clearly. It looks even worse in person. Or, in uh, cat (?):

Domestic Violence

Though the evidence is circumstantial, the perpetrator isn’t meek, little Hee Seop this time. It’s our alpha male, Angelo. Sorry, jane, I know how much you love him, but this is exactly the type of shit he pulls and Hopper, unfortunately, gets the worst of it. Face it — you love a thug!

Angelo says: More pet pics are available for your viewing pleasure at this week’s Friday Ark. If you post your own pets’ photos, leave them a trackback or comment and you’ll be listed there, too. And remember — they don’t limit pictures just to cats!

    Aw, poor baby! ((sniff-sniff))

  3. Mr. Fabulous says:

Oh man…this is the second blog in a row I’ve read that has an injured pet…I’m afraid to look at any more of my blogroll LOL

  4. charles says:

Such a poor baby. Hahahah I really like the snapshots! Happy Thanksgiving to you Barb!

    Poor thing.

Would you let me borrow your CSI idea sometimes? It would have been great when we found the dead mice. I’ll give you credit.

  6. Barb says:

Thanks, everyone. I think (hope) it just looks worse than it really is. She isn’t picking at it that we’ve noticed, and it doesn’t even seem to bother her. Still, there’s fur missing and it just looks bad. I’m giving it two weeks before taking her to see the scary bad lady for some ointment or something.

Mr. Fabulous, based on your wonderful new template (y) (last time I saw you it had the beach with the wooden signs on it), maybe I can hire you as an investigator for these crimes! Except that we usually already know who did what, so I don’t know how much help you could be. (@) I could always send you evidence to analyze, though! Nah…bad idea. (i)

charles, Happy Thanksgiving to you, too, even though we (Filipinos) don’t really celebrate it! :d

Robin, of course you can use the CSI idea! That’s why I always include the original link when posting these episodes–so anyone new who happens to come across the post will know what I’m talking about!

Oh, poor Hopper. I hate to see any animal injured. Well…I do love Angelo the thug, but I hope he plays nice with the others.

  8. mamazilla says:

maybe you should threaten him with some pink soft paws… our cats look hilarious trotting around the house with them on… we got the assorted pack for bailey and pink for stella. :)

  9. Barb says:

jane, I promise you–it’s not as bad as it looks. We love Angelo, too, and he’s such a sweetie with us (most of the time) and other humans, but he does not play well with others. Though he and Basil wrestle around, Basil’s the only one that Angelo won’t actually hurt. All of the other cats get along with Basil. I don’t know why that is, but I’m not complaining!

mamazilla, and did those things stay on? OMG–clipping Angelo’s nails is like…I don’t even know. He’s getting better about the whole process, though. However, we still have to keep his head covered with a blankie so we don’t get bit. :o

  10. mamazilla says:

it took time for us to acclimate the cats to the whole thing, but they’re fine with them now and they stay on for a while – until it’s “time” for them to come off (like when the cats shed a nail or somesuch)… and they haven’t had any trouble with ingrown nails either.

i remember that for a while i just clipped their nails for a while and then introduced the softpaws… seriously, the comedy is worth it – i’d call them drag queens but they’re girls… so, i guess they’re just manicured divas…

i haven’t been able to keep up the routine since the porkchop’s been born but as soon as were back to something resembling a routine, they’re getting back on the softpaw wagon…. at the very least for the comedic relief they provide.

:d It would be really funny to see Angelo sporting some pink Soft Paws! Well, I guess it’s something to consider. Fortunately, these incidents where someone (Hopper) is actually injured don’t happen too often, but we might give it a shot.
