130 lbs., Baby! Rozerem, FOAD Thursday

I was incredibly surprised to find that I’m at 130 lbs. when I weighed myself at the gym today. I didn’t work out yesterday, but the other day I was at like, 131.2 or something like that. I hadn’t had a BM in two days despite all the Metamucil–until yesterday. It’s amazing how much of a difference taking a shit can make, isn’t it? :d

Perhaps the Rozerem could have been why I’ve felt so shitty the past couple of days. According to Robert Meyer, M.D., who was interviewed for this article, “‘We saw in the clinical trials that Rozerem could increase depression in people who are depressed’”. So I stopped taking it last night and will take the Lunesta samples I have instead. The pdoc didn’t call back yesterday, so we’ll call him again tomorrow.

I was going to write a FOAD post, but since everyone’s probably too stuffed on turkey to go blog surfing anyway, I’ll save it for next week. (*)

  1. That’s the same reason I didn’t write a FOAD today. Plus I already bitched about my mortgage company earlier in the week and no one else has pissed me off that much this week. ;) Hope you had a great Thanksgiving. :d

  2. What I wouldn’t give to be 130 lbs again! I could get there is I had the means to go to a gym, but I refuse to pay for a sitter. Of course, one January comes along, I’ll have a little more time to myself during the day between classes…maybe I can squeeze a few workouts in.

Meds can be so scary! I try to avoid taking anything anymore. After my scare with Zoloft…I’m RX-shy. I hope the Lunesta works for you!

    ((hugs))

  6. Ananke, yeah, that mortgage company post was definitely FOAD-esque. :d

Denise, I’m so used to taking meds, but yes, they can definitely be scary. You know what? Most schools have rec centers that are free for students (well, not exactly, because it’s probably part of the “activity fee” in your tuition that you have to pay for even if you don’t live on campus). A lot of gyms now have day cares, but I’d definitely check to see if your school has a rec center.

Mr. Fabulous, well, I’d been having trouble back there recently. ;) I’ll leave it at that. :)

Thanks, Robin! Now that I’ve incorporated rest days into my gym schedule, things are working out better. (y)

    Abby, thank you!

I hope you’ve all had a wonderful Thanksgiving!

  10. DB, taking a shit definitely helps! I just can’t believe how much of that stuff our bodies can hold. :o

Denise, it’s definitely worth looking into, especially if it’s free and you have time between classes. Good luck! (y)

April, it’s been so hard for us to take pictures spontaneously because all we have is Brian’s camera phone, and the quality of that is shit. Any film we buy has been used for hockey games! (p) We’ll figure something out. In the meantime, I need a new belt because my pants, even though I like them baggy, are really starting to fall off now! :d

  11. Wow, 30lbs is GREAT. That gives you an incentive to keep doing what you’re doing! :D

  12. I never did anything about it sooner because of the depression, but being overweight, IMO, keeps people’s depression in place, you know? It certainly did for me, which is why it’s only in the last couple of months that I finally decided to seriously work on this. Plus, I was determined to play hockey this season!

When I first started tracking my weight over a year ago I think I was at 141 lbs., lost a few, then when I was in the hospital last June, gained 5 lbs.! Believe it or not, the food at this particular hospital was so good!!! (^)

  13. I’m not sure if this is true or not, but I heard a long time go that Elvis & John Wayne had like 45 lbs. of shit inside them when they died. Okay, and I know this is sick, but I wouldn’t mind having a 30 lb. BM.

    Congrats on the weight loss!

  14. Well, you can always try that Fleet Phospho-soda the doctor made me take before the colonoscopy. ;) I swear I must have lost 4 lbs. just from that. I’ve also heard that some anorexics take laxatives to lose weight. Crazy, huh?
