Direct Hit–Not
And thank fucking God. Last night as I picked up Brian from work, I nearly hit local NBC mid-morning co-anchor Art Norman with the car! Brian’s company is located at the NBC Tower, you see.
It was about 6:30 so it was dark, and I was watching the SUV directly in front of me to see where in front of the building he was going to pull up because it looked like he was picking somebody up, as well. I wanted to make sure there was space for me to park against the curb. This is all happening to my right. Art Norman was crossing the street from my left. Well, he was jaywalking rather than on the crosswalk, and at least I didn’t hit him! Plus, I was only going like, 5 mph, though, I guess that doesn’t really matter, does it?
Note to Self: do not take Benadryl and drive. That’s something that I already know, and if my allergies are so bad that I have to take Benadryl in addition to the Allegra and Claritin that I take in the morning, I usually start out with a 12.5 mg. dose of children’s Benadryl. But lately, when I’ve taken the normal, 50 mg. adult dose to try to get to sleep, nothing happens. So when my allergies were practically killing me yesterday, I figured it would be OK. Wrong.
My Kind of Town

My allergies are killer and the only thing that seems to work is Drixoral which is now fairly hard to get.

The only thing that helps my allergies is Clarinex. Sounds like the Claratin but its much more expensive.

Oh, I hear you on the allergy meds. I have to take so many sometimes I fear to even operate my computer keyboard from being so groggy.

Well, if you had hit him it would have served him right because he was jaywalking!!!! Er, I mean, I’m glad you avoided hitting him. Yeah, that’s what I meant. :$

LOL I’m sure he would’ve end up being news for a change. (y)

Robin, c. s., and dan, you name it, I’ve taken it. I even have nose spray, but I don’t like to use it so I don’t. I saw an allergist once and she did some tests. She wanted to do a second round of tests, but told me that when I saw her next, I “can’t have four cats.” Fuck that. I never saw her again.
Ananke, exactly! He was jaywalking! The building is located in a sort of cul-de-sac and the crosswalks there are clearly marked by big, fat, white vertical stripes that run parallel to the street. He should have known better!
You know, a couple of years ago, Da Mayor almost allowed ticketing of jaywalkers!
Gladys, LOL!!! OMG–I know it really isn’t funny, but that would’ve been totally hilarious! Especially if that Chicago law passed where jaywalkers could get tickets–and he got one! :p

I don’t like the nasal spray since for some reason it makes me sneeze more.
Oh and while I know not having cats would certainly help I know I’d be a much more unhappy person without them.

Why the hell was he jaywalking? It hard enough in the darkness with traffic, not to mention an unexpected pedestrian.
A side note..I wonder if that would’ve made the news.
About the Benadryl ~ Please be really careful. Even though it’s an over the counter medicine, well, it could even be prescription, if you got in an accident, you could still be charged with driving under the influence. (I know this is true in California positively) I never would have thought that but learned it in a defensive driving course.

Robin, I totally agree with you on the cat thing.
You know what, jane? Funny you mention it, because I was actually wondering that, but I don’t know what the law is about that here.

Damn, you sure were lucky!
