The eBay Ordeal Conclusion

Thursday, October 26th, 2006

(If you haven’t been following this story line, read part 1 here and part 2 here. Or not.)

As it turns out, a seller account isn’t the same as having an eBay store, so there’s nothing for me to cancel, unless I want to delete my eBay account completely, which I’m not ready to do.

The fees they recently deducted automatically from my PayPal account were the fees from our last sale–the Ohio State vs. Penn State tickets. It wasn’t some required monthly fee just to be able to sell anything on their site. Apparently, they don’t deduct the fees immediately after each sale–rather, they wait until the end of the month to do this, which supposedly saves you money. For example, if we sold some other things that month, they would have deducted all of the fees at the same time.

If anyone’s interested, you can read their response to me below.

Colonoscopy Diagnosis

Thursday, October 26th, 2006

The procedure went fine, and unlike some people told me about their own experiences, I was WIDE AWAKE and not under general anesthesia. They did have me on a sedative, but not in la-la land so the doctor could communicate with me throughout this process.

What surprised me was that when the tech brought me into the room to change out of my clothes, I started bawling because I was so scared–tears, sobs, the works. I’ve had all kinds of other medical procedures done, but for some reason this one just terrified me.

Thankfully, there is nothing seriously wrong. I have a teeny, tiny diverticulum that the doctor said is nothing to worry about. Basically, it’s a pocket inside your colon, kind of like a dent. Don’t worry–I won’t gross anyone out further by posting the pictures of my insides! Bwahahahaha!!!!

I also have a few internal hemorrhoids, and that’s what’s been causing the blood. He says that most people have these, and sometimes they just become irritated. Maybe i’ve been spending too much time sitting on my ass in front of the computer. Heh.

So I’m supposed to continue my high fiber diet and daily Metamucil, and eat four small meals a day. Wonderful. I’ve learned recently that the more active you are, the more food you need!

I’m also supposed to do these pelvic exercises. You know how you push when you poop? Well, for the exercises I’m supposed to do the opposite–you know, like you’re trying to hold it in. I have to do ten of these three times a day. Just what I need–something else to add to my daily workout routine. Brian says that once I’ve done these exercises long enough, I should be able to crack nuts with my ass. Heh. The Flying Squirrels better keep that in mind next time we play them. ;)

Colonoscopy Haute Couture

Am I not the epitome of incontinence haute couture, or what? Yeah, that’s a pair of fucking Depends that I’m wearing. Since I don’t have to be at the hospital for at least another hour, I thought I’d write a post while I still have my humor about me. Anyway, if you or anyone you know ever needs to have a colonoscopy, here’s what to expect when you prepare for it. If you’re squeamish, don’t read further.

Some Pain I Can Handle

Tuesday, October 24th, 2006

Even though I’m having that colonoscopy tomorrow (if you’re non-squeamish, see the previous post), I played rat hockey today. I was the only goalie there. I certainly haven’t improved between Saturday’s game and this morning, but I know I played better.

Here’s what I’ve learned: it helps when your team is good and knows what they’re doing. I’m not at all dissing my teammates, especially since some of them are still learning to skate, let alone learning the game. But wow! It really makes a difference. Still, I’m well aware that I have plenty to learn and work on.

I took a slapshot in my upper, inner left arm — a great save, the guys said! — but it didn’t hurt enough to stop me from continuing to play today. I’m icing it down now. Besides, I hurt the same arm (upper forearm near the elbow) a few weeks ago when I wiped out during public skate. That hurt way worse.

Anyway, I hope the colonoscopy won’t be painful — it might not be the kind I can deal with. Well, without whining incessantly. Believe me, I’d rather take slapshots. Still, I’m hoping to make it to practice Thursday night and to my game on Saturday.

And I Thought This Shit Was Over With

Monday, October 23rd, 2006

Ha. No pun intended. I thought that seeing the gastroenterologist and being on Metamucil and all that would help. Unfortunately…well, if you’re squeamish, don’t bother reading on. Bottom line, though, I’m scheduled for a colonoscopy on Wednesday! On frickin’ Wednesday! I didn’t realize it was that serious.
