i’ve had an eBay account for years now, because i used to buy and sell comic books and Star Wars and Harry Potter LEGO sets. i would still, but money’s tight, plus i wasn’t even online for months and months, remember? (well, if you’re a regular, then you remember.)
anyway, i hadn’t used eBay since like, February at the very least? well recently, we sold our Ohio State-Penn State tickets because there was no way we’d be able to make it to the game (this past September 23, the undefeated Buckeyes won 28 – 6). i realize that there’s a fee for posting the item and whatnot, but now all of a sudden we’re getting these automated billing statements for $14.26?
excuse me? what the fuck am i missing here? the buyer paid the price (he got it as a Buy It Now item) and the shipping and all that, so why are we still having to pay stuff? i got the invoice for this bill just the other day, and the tickets were sold weeks ago!
what the fucking fuck? i’m so tempted to cancel my account since i haven’t used it for months and months, especially if they’re going to charge me mysterious, automated fees. however, i’m not sure if i should really cancel because what if i need to use it? oh, and trying to contact their customer service and look stuff up on their support/help pages? joke. fuckers.

We’ve toyed with the idea of selling on ebay before but when we get to “we’ll charge you for selling and hand over your card details” page, we always hit the back button.
Paul & Debbie
I only sold something on Ebay one time. I got one of those mysterious fees and then a couple of days later it was reversed and gone.
Damn PayPal.
Paul and Debbie, it worked great until recently! the posting fees are quite cheap, but now i’m really, really ambivalent.
dan, PayPal. that’s another thing. i like PayPal because it especially worked well back when i was selling LEGOs on my online shop (temporarily closed; hope to re-open soon).
but get this–i had to renew my paid version of Flickr recently and had no choice but to pay with PayPal. there was an option to use another payment method (credit card, bank account instant transfer, etc.), but it just wouldn’t take. i wanted to do an instant transfer. so it took the miniscule balance left on my PayPal plus whatever else they needed from my regular bank account.
and yet, as far as i know, there aren’t any established alternatives to either site. are there? (n)

‘Cause I know this goes right to you.
I answered as truthfully as I could!
i’m jealous. if i were going to be a Jedi, i’d want to be Mace Windu, too. did you know that the lightsaber he actually used for the movies has “BMF” etched onto it? how cool is that?
anyway, long before bloggo chicago came into existence, i had a Star Wars blog. i’m currently importing (manually) the old posts, but i guess i took that quiz before and i was Mace Windu then! i wonder what happened? maybe it was the ECT–i mean, Force Lightning.
ebay needs competition. period. it’s not what it used to be. too many people selling, buying…
First, what the fuck is that crap from The meaning of life? Spammer it looks like. Gah.
Anyway, I don’t use ebay so much anymore. I have found that I can sell things on Craigslist. Others have gotten a lot more money for their items and they don’t have crazy ebay fees. I only buy from ebay these days. I wouldn’t sell anymore because they’re stupid.
yeah, what the fuck was that? well, it’s gone and the IP blacklisted now. stupid fucktard–it was probably someone who works for eBay.
i do know about craigslist but i didn’t know you could sell stuff there–and i learned about Freecycle on Charred’s blog.
that does it. i’m canceling my sellers account. thanks for the info! (y)
