Quick Update

i haven’t been blogging much or visiting people’s blogs lately because i’ve been in the hospital. i was discharged yesterday, but now i’m in an Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) that runs from M - F, 9am - 1pm. i’m not sure how long i’ll be in IOP. more details later.

What’s Michael? Off the Deep End

by Makoto Kobayashi

this is the third volume in the What?s Michael? manga series. Brian also brought this to the hospital for me, and like the previous one i read, it cheered me up.

What’s Michael? Living Together

by Makoto Kobayashi

Brian brought a few of these to the hospital for me to read, and they helped battle the depression?actually made me laugh out loud a few times, so that was cool.

Why I gave up consuming The Brothers Karamazov

by Fyodor Dostoevsky

the only other book by Dostoyevsky that i?ve read is Crime and Punishment, which is one of my favorites. the problem i?ve been having with this version of The Brothers Karamazov is the translation. i can?t remember who translated my copy of C&P, and since we just moved recently, i have no idea where Brian packed it. i tried looking it up here, on Amazon, and on the Borders web site, but couldn?t find it. or if it is listed on any of those sites, there?s no image of the book cover.

once i dig it up, i?ll pick up a copy of BK by the same translator of the C&P that i own. one of my nurses (i was just released from the hospital today) recommended the one published by Penguin Classics.

What’s New Now

i haven’t blogged much lately because i haven’t really had much to blog about. the ECT isn’t working yet. i was just reading some of my earlier posts and i totally forgot that i had to stop taking Tegretol before the first time i had it done. i’m pretty sure i’ve started taking it again, so maybe that’s why the ECT isn’t working. you know, because Tegretol is an anti-convulsant.

however, it’s really affected my memory. i have a hard time remembering all kinds of stuff i used to take for granted. i couldn’t even remember what my login was for WordPress! can you believe that? obviously, i figured it out.

anyway, i went today and i go back on Wednesday. after that, i don’t know what’s going to happen, although i have an appointment with my pdoc on Thursday.

A story about Star Wars Visionaries

by Warren Fu

i don?t know why, but my stars aren?t showing up for this entry. what a pain. i gave it 4 or 5 stars. now i can?t even remember!

A review of Star Wars Visionaries

by Warren Fu

here are stories written and drawn by the artists who worked on Episode III, and are also related to Star Wars. you kind of have to see this to believe it. it?s reallly cool.

A review of Undercurrents: A Life Beneath the Surface

by Martha Manning

since i?m going through ECT myself i thought it would be good to read books written by people who have also had ECT. wrong. Martha Manning is a psychologist herself, so i thought she?d have some really good insight into her experience. nope.the book is in diary form, but the thing about it is the whole thing is written in present tense! very annoying.

A review of Last of the Jedi: Death on Naboo (Star Wars: Last of the Jedi, Book 4)

by Jude Watson

although this is a kids? book, it?s pretty good. Jude Watson also wrote the Jedi Apprentice (that had young Obi-Wan) and Jedi Quest (with young Anakin) series. this is the 4th book in this series and takes place after Episode III. Ferus Olin, who?s an adult character and was a Jedi with Anakin during JQ, ended up leaving the order. now that there aren?t any Jedi left, he?s using what Jedi abilities he still has to try and help people.

What’s New

nothing. i had another ECT again today, and for the first time since i’ve had them, i’m constantly having to pee. what a pain in the ass. also, the regular shock doc is on vacation or something so some other doctor’s doing it, and this guy does it super early! like on Friday, we have to be there at 6:15am! Jesus Christ. i don’t know yet if i’m going to have to go back next week or what. well, i don’t feel better yet.

in other news, Brian picked up the keys to our new apartment. we can move in on the 15th, but i don’t think we will ’til the 24th. i hate moving, but i can’t wait to get out of this place.
