After that, my friend got him and took him to the vet. Luckily he was ok...just a little hungry. She told me about him, and I went to "look" at him and fell in love. That was the last time he was outside. That was 11 years ago. He has perches all over the house where he can see outside and sometimes I will take him out and sit on the porch with him...but I never put him down. The oldest one went outside one time and panicked. He ran under the porch and remained there paralyzed with fear and has since not tried to get out. We were worried he was going to do the whole taking off thing (and large urban areas are not cool for letting cats roam, imho). Anyway, I gave up and took him outside myself.
