NuvaRing

last night i saw a commercial for NuvaRing, a once-a-month contraceptive. um, there is no way i’m sticking a foreign object inside me and leaving it there for a month, especially if it doesn’t have a handy dandy string attached for easy-out convenience. i’m just sayin’.

  11. NuvaRing–Oh, hell no. That’s why the diaphragm, the IUD, and the female condom creep me out. I’m not sticking anything weird in there that I might not be able to remove. I’m with you, no way.

  12. As a long time (yes it’s been out for nearly 3 years) NuvaRing user I gotta say, it’s the best birth control I have ever dealt with. No timing pills or hormonal rollercoasters, just fold it in half, push in and forget. It’s not hard to get it out (you loop your finger into the ring), and most people wear rubber gloves while doing it. It’s a lot easier than a diaphragm or a cervical cap, and a lot more reliable than the pill. Also it didn’t make me fat or crazy. If the idea of the nuvaring freaks you out go talk to your gyno about it. It’s a lot simpler than it seems, and it’s not like you’ve never touched yourself down there (god I hope).

  13. I had a hysterectomy at age 28 so I don;t worry about “those things” now, lol. However, my oldest sons fiance’ used that NuvaRing and is now expecting their first child on or about July 22, 2006. Although we are all happy about the baby, they were shocked by the news.

Also, your partner can feel the damn thing, NOT GOOD. (per my future daughter-in-law.

    Have a great week Barb!

  16. I’ve seen the ad on t.v., lol. I don’t know, I mean, I don’t think I would have it on for a month either, but then again, I’ve never used birth control like that, only condoms.
