Bears Beat the Packers on Home Turf!
i don’t write about sports much because i don’t keep up with it as much as i used to. but it’s my duty as a Chicagoan to post that the Bears beat the Packers at Soldier Field for the first time in 12 years! not only that, it’s their 8th straight win! go Bears! (see article below for more)
however, i will say that’s it’s really weird to be rooting for Kyle Orton because we saw a couple of Ohio State - Purdue games, one of which we are at, and rooted against the guy.
Bears Sack Favre, Packers For 8th-Straight Win
Bears Hadn’t Beat Packers At Home Since 1993

CHICAGO – Robbie Gould kicked four field goals and Nathan Vasher scored a touchdown on an interception return as the Chicago Bears defeated the Green Bay Packers, 19-7, at Soldier Field.
The dominant Chicago defense sacked Brett Favre twice, picked him off twice and recovered two of his
fumbles. The Bears (9-3) won for the eighth straight week despite being outgained 358-188.
Thomas Jones ran for 93 yards on 19 carries and Kyle Orton was a paltry 6- of -17 for 68 yards with a interception for Chicago, which beat Green Bay at Soldier Field for the first time since 1993.
Favre was 31-of-58 for 277 yards and two interceptions and Samkon Gado ran for 75 yards and a touchdown for the Packers (2-10), who have dropped their last three games.
The Bears led 12-7 with a little over three minutes left in the game when Favre was picked off by Vasher. He ran it down the right sideline 45 yards for the score to put the game out of reach.

I am REALLY interested to see how far the Bears can carry this…their transformation, if you wanna call it that…this year has been incredible.

My husband is getting *very* excited about the Bears. He’s a fan (although he’s a bigger Cubs fan). It’s hard to get work done on Sundays when he’s watching the games because he makes a lot of noise: “GO! GO! RUN! RUN! HE’S GOING TO SCORE!!! TOUCHDOWN!!!!!”
*sigh*

BTW…what do you think of getting Rex Grossman back on the field? I’d love to see it happen this year (he is such an enthusiastic, dedicated guy…and intangibles of that nature can be invaluable “make it or break it” factors for any team)…

Margaret, does it scare the cats?
ariadneK, i’m no Peggy Kusinski! even with this extra weight, i’d much rather be me!
anyway, here’s my take: i’d love to see Grossman play next year, but Orton’s doing well. my bet is that he gets traded. i bet the Bears keep Orton, and with his performance this year, they aren’t going to place him back on the depth chart once Grossman’s off IR.
