Hopper leaves the same amount of room on the couch for Basil that I do for Brian. But that’s just what Brian says.

Links Pages

Friday, September 23rd, 2005

since i merged my other blogs with this one, i’ve decided to create static pages for the blogrolls from the other blogs.  besides, i don’t feel like renewing my BlogRolling subscription.  anyway, i’m now finished.  go, me.  they are: (dead links, 12/12/05)

Fucking JetBlue

Thursday, September 22nd, 2005

i don’t know why everyone’s so awed by the JetBlue landing (see article below).  it’s great that the crew and passengers made it, but give me a break.  before this story, how many people had even heard of JetBlue?  there is no way in the world i’d go anywhere–even to say, Milwaukee–on an airline i never knew existed just to save a few bucks.  fuck that.  you get what you pay for.

Francis Mark Mondimore: Bipolar Disorder: A Guide for Patients and Families

Tuesday, September 20th, 2005

if you want basic information about bipolar disorder, its origins, causes, treatment, and so on, this is the book to get. i bought it a couple of years ago even though i had already been diagnosed bipolar, because of the section on family planning.

some of the issues described are the manic and depressive states; diagnosis; specific medications; and therapy. what makes it worthwhile is that there?s also a chapter aimed at the patient?s family: recognizing symptoms, how to help with treatment, and support.

rather than being dry, the writing style is straightforward, which makes the information easy to digest.
