I misunderstood what was happening when Carth approves the Harbinger captain’s request to investigate a nearby battle. Apparently, they were on course to Telos to deliver the passenger (me). This battle was the one against the Sith, during which the Ebon Hawk found shelter on the Harbinger.
So far, it seems that the only reason Carth places such a high priority on my safe arrival to Telos is so he can ask me about Revan. Obviously, there’s no Carth romance (boo hoo!). He has been waiting for Revan for the past four years, since she unexpectedly left shortly after defeating Malak. According to Carth, she said she was going to a place where she couldn’t bring anyone she loved.
This is just after I destroy the Ravager, Darth Nihilus’s ship, who was about to attack the Citadel Station. When I return to the Citadel, Lieutenant Grenn greets me and informs me that Carth requested a private meeting. Carth and I then have the Revan conversation. He knows that I’m about to leave for Malachor V, which is where Kreia is currently located.
Malachor V is the planet where the Mandalorians were ultimately defeated. It’s also the location of the Trayus Academy, a Sith academy where Revan supposedly studied Sith teachings during the Mandalorian War. My guess, and probably Carth’s, is that Revan went to Malachor V. Revan believed that something else was behind the Mandalorian War.
Carth probably knows that she’s dead, but remains in denial. I ask him if I should tell him if I find signs of her on Malachor V, and he adamantly says no. Instead, he asks that I tell her that he’s waiting for her. Pathetic. On the other hand, I should be relieved that he remains faithful. Then again, that’s very much in character for him because he’s incredibly loyal.
I haven’t come across Revan yet, and from what I hear, I won’t. My guess is that she was defeated by Kreia, her former Master, which is probably how Kreia obtained the Ebon Hawk, “Revan’s ship,” Carth calls it. I find it hard to believe that the powerful Revan would give up the Hawk without a fight, perhaps even to the death. I wondered if she turned back to the dark side, but I doubt it.
