The Weekly Bit
1. who would win in a fight, Frankenstein or Dracula?
Dracula needs to feed on blood in order to survive, and since Frankenstein doesn’t have any, then the vampire would definitely lose.
2. choose one of these treats: snickers, milkyway, m&m’s, kit kat or twix?
peanut M&Ms
3. the movie ‘Halloween’, truly scary or kinda cheesy?
i haven’t seen it in a very long time, but i remember being pretty scared. i didn’t see it at the movies though, maybe on TV? so even with the commercials i guess it still spooked me.
4. whats your view on trick or treaters? oh so annoying! or awwww, how cute!
we don’t get trick-or-treaters, either because we live in an apartment and/or in the city of Chicago. when i lived with my parents, i always thought the kids were annoying until i answered the door and saw how cute they were.
5. whats scarier? a vampire, werewolf or zombie? why?
a zombie. werewolves at least have the ability to look cute, sort of, and even though i’ve seen really scary drawings of vampires, at least bits of their faces aren’t falling off.
6. What family would you rather be a part of The ‘Munsters’ or The ‘Addams Family’
why?
i remember the Munsters more than the Addams family, but i kind of get both confused. i think i’d rather be a Munster–they have a cooler name, and Eddie Munster is cute.
the Saturday Six
1. What is the most clever Halloween costume someone you know has worn (that you wish you’d have come up with yourself)?
a guy i know dressed as a walking, functioning vending machine–candy, not pop!
2. You’re invited to a Halloween party that begins in one hour. You have to make a costume only from what is already in your house. So how would you dress up?
i’d be a total lame-o and throw on my ratty old "This Is My Costume T-shirt."
3. What is the amount of the last check you wrote?
$50
4. How many keys are on your keyring, and are there any that you’ve forgotten that you even had?
i have 5 keys on my keyring, all of which i use.
5. Who was the last musical performer you saw live in concert, and was it worth the admission price?
it’s been so long since i’ve been to a show that i can’t remember who i last saw. Helmet in ‘97? i don’t remember!
6. READER’S CHOICE QUESTION #29 from DaBabysBack: What is your favorite day of the week and why?
because i don’t have a set schedule and work mostly from home, Mondays are my favorite. it’s like a combination of Saturday, Sunday, and Monday. when my husband leaves for work in the morning, i’m free to schedule the day in any way i want to–run errands, do chores, make necessary phone calls, complete paperwork. it’s like my day to get ready for the rest of the week.
I will be voting at the flower shop at the end of my block. So convenient. That will be the only place I vote.
On the channel 5 news last night, there was a story about a woman in Evanston who received 3 separate items in the mail, each specifying a different location for her to cast her vote. Or in this case, votes.
We may not be able to vote early like the Floridians, but some of us can still vote often!
p.s. - I couldn’t find this story on NBC5.com–just a link directing readers to the Cook County Clerk’s Office Web site if there’s confusion about the location of their polling place.
Brian talked to the vet who said that Basil’s bloodwork is just fine. one of his thyroid levels is a little high, but nothing to be too concerned about. she suggested bringing him back in 3 months for another test. so that’s where we’ll be!
he has been doing well.
=^.^=
i totally forgot to describe what the site of the week is. it’s called Awful Plastic Surgery. need i say more? great before and after pics– celebrities, too!
how strange is it that this past week’s episodes of "CSI" (from 10/21), "Law & Order," and "Without a Trace," all had to do with plastic surgery?
sometimes, Angelo can’t seem to tell the difference between a lap, lap and a laptop.
I apologize for any inconvenience this may cause anyone, but due to increased responsibilites, Cell 2187 will be on temporary hiatus. However, I will attempt to update the media list as often as possible.
Over the next few weeks I will be in the process of moving Cell 2187 to another site. Once this happens, I will post an entry with the new URL.
Thanks for your understanding, and if you have any questions, please e-mail me at bloggochicago@gmail.com.

Theater Thursday
It’s that scary time of year again. Halloween. With that in mind…
1) What’s your favorite scary movie?
Candyman is my favorite, not so much because it was a good movie, but because it scared me so badly i was afraid to look in the mirror for weeks; i was afraid i would accidentally say “Candyman” five times.
but my favorite, favorite is the original, Japanese version of The Ring, called Ringu.
2) Are you more into the lame scary movies that make you laugh, or the straight up - scare the bejesus out of you - scary movies?
oo! i like the superscary movies. as much as i can’t stand being scared, at the same time, i love that feeling–kind of like riding a roller coaster, you know? plus, you know it isn’t real.
3) Scary movies - best viewed alone? Or with a crowd?
most definitely not alone! i’m the biggest scaredycat!
BONUS) You’ve parked your behind on the couch for a marathon of scary movies. What 5 scary movies are on your list?
in no particular order:
- Hellraiser
- Omen II
- The Exorcist
- Candyman (why not?)
- Texas Chainsaw Massacre (either version)
they say that if you’re ever at a loss as to which candidate to vote for in the local elections, simply choose the Democrat with the Irish or Polish name.
